Layered Industrial Space

This was a design study for the city of Minneapolis MN, to demonstrate the feasiblity of taking advantage of of the unique condititions of location, geography and infrastructure to create an underground industrial park. A site-specific development plan which can provide a potential of miilions of sq.ft. of industrial and storage space dirctly below the center of Minneapolis. The space is accessible by truck and barge from the river edge. It is less than thirty seconds away from the business and marketing center of the city by elevator. Its development costs are competitive with comparable space at suburban industrial sites. Local conditions of topography and geology make this sustainable approach viable.
